Full of great color this Antique Genje (Gendje) rug was hand-knotted using 100% wool in the Caucasus Mountains. Condition is good with wonderful earthy color palette of green, brick, ivory and black. Renowned for bold geometric patterns, such as these stylized boteh mofis framed by unique, multi-colored borders. Generally produced in runner format for reception and corridor areas. These rugs are considered valuable pieces of Caucasian weaving, reflecting both village, artisan techniques and, at times, Armenian, influences. Professionally cleaned.
