Unusual Antique Bidjar Sampler, Circa 1910. Hand-knotted in Iran (Persia) using 100% wool for the pile and foundation. This type of rug called "Sampler" is known to have been made in Bidjar. These rugs were used to show the pattern and scale of a larger rug in a smaller format to allow the prospective buyer to review the design/color before putting on a larger loom.
