Antique Hamadan Runner. This rug was hand-knotted in the city of Hamadan, located the in western region of Persia/Iran, recognized as one of the largest weaving areas in the region encompassing hundreds of villages. Each one of these villages has its own characteristic weaving tradition that dictates the patterns and sizes of the rugs made there. This earth-toned runner displays an artistic and intricate pattern that includes curvilinear motifs and a myriad of colors including fawn, brown, brick, blue and green. A work of art!
