Isphahan was a weaving and cultural center of great importance that has long produced carpets of great technical skill and sophisticated aesthetics. This rug was hand-knotted almost a century ago using 100% wool in a soft color palette of warm golds, mahogany and blue. During this era, the weavers introduced distinctively curvilinear, delicate floral forms and refined classical antique carpet designs such as the arabesque, scroll, vine interlacement, vase, and hunting motifs. This rug is in good condition. Professionally cleaned.
