Antique Persian Meshed

Glorious! Hand-knotted almost a century ago using high-quality, lanolin-rich wool resulting in a silky luster and longevity, even with many decades of use. The city of Meshed is one of Iran’s oldest cities, located in the Khorassan province in the NE corner of Persia. Meshed carpet weavers have traditionally produced grand carpets with distinguishing color palettes of blue-red tones from deep rose to rich wine to cranberry, created by adding small amounts of indigo to the madder red dye bath. This rug reflects a beautiful dusty rose field complemented by accents in blues, greens, taupe and ivory in an intricate floral design framed by multiple creative aesthetic borders. Condition is very good with some age appropriate abrash.
